“Moving Inn Tokachi Kitanomori” in Hokkaido’s Tokachi offers a winter-exclusive activity: “Winter Riverside Sauna,” now open for reservations. In this activity, guests can enjoy an outdoor sauna experience in the forest, using the nearby Hidaka scenic spot “Nubinai River” as a natural cold bath.
The facility is located in Taiki Town, Tokachi region, one of Japan’s coldest areas, reaching around -20°C in the harsh winter. The difference between the over 80°C sauna tent and the outside cold can exceed 100°C. The cold bath in such extreme cold offers an unprecedented thrill and a new sensation.
Moreover, the Loyly using Moving Inn’s original aroma oil made from Hokkaido’s indigenous fir trees, offers not only physical healing but also relaxation from its fragrance. Additionally, as an option, we offer a post-sauna lunch “Sauna Meal” (reservation required). Please consult with the staff when booking your stay for reservations for the Winter Riverside Sauna.

Winter Plan: Enjoy a Day Trip Sauna with the “Private Day Sauna Plan”
At “Moving Inn Tokachi Kitanomori,” every site is equipped with a sauna trailer and a wood-fired open-air bath, free for all staying guests to use. Responding to the requests of many guests, we now offer the “Private Day Sauna Plan” for day-trip enjoyment of the sauna and open-air bath.
The rooms available for this plan are the Nature Suite KODACHI and HOTORI. Enjoy a personal “refreshment” experience without worrying about your surroundings. Take this opportunity to indulge in the ultimate outdoor sauna.
Private Day Sauna Plan
- Location: Nature Suite KODACHI / HOTORI.
- Time: 11:00 – 15:00. Maximum 4 hours.
- Capacity: 1 – 6 people. Maximum 4 people in the sauna.
- Price: 22,000 JPY. 15% discount on weekdays, priced at 19,000 JPY.
- Option: Steak Tasting Set (Two Types) [6,600 JPY per person].
