【New Year Celebration】Delight in Abalone & Beef Steak Culinary Bliss, Elevate Your Fortune with Local Sake ‘Kaiun’!
Nestled along the coast in the quiet and rustic port town of Hokkawa Hot Spring, East Izu, is “Tsuruya Kichijo-tei” (Shizuoka Prefecture, East Izu Town). From January 15 to January 31, 2024, to celebrate the New Year, they have prepared a special accommodation plan that includes abalone & beef steak and complimentary local sake ‘Kaiun’.
For dinner, the ‘Hokkawa Romance’ Japanese Kaiseki meal offers a free refill of 14 different types of tempura, including local Shizuoka seasonal sashimi, spiny lobster, red snapper, and the flavorful Japanese bouillabaisse with clams, whitebait, and soft roe.
Moreover, each room receives a gift of abalone & beef steak, along with the New Year’s celebratory sake ‘Kaiun’, a fine local brand.
‘Kaiun’, which literally means ‘opening fortune’ or ‘heralding good luck’, was named by a Meiji-era brewery with hopes of bringing prosperity to the region. This sake is favored in celebrations not only for its delightful taste but also for its auspiciousness, symbolizing the opening of good fortune and success.
Be soothed by the beautiful ocean view and the inn’s own flowing hot spring waters. Reflecting on your New Year’s resolutions, a trip to East Izu to witness the sunrise can be the perfect start to 2024, and a journey of culinary delights.
