An Invitation to Enchanting Evenings: The Renewal of ‘Sakedokoro Mansai

Nestled between Shibuya’s Dogenzaka and Bunkamura Street, in the Hyakkendana area, “Bar Nagasaki/Udon Tavern Mansai,” inheritor of the 65-year-old “Snack Nagasaki,” has expanded and reopened as “Sakedokoro Mansai” on December 13, 2023.

Boasting a wide selection of sake, from classic favorites to rare seasonal varieties, the menu has been updated by Chef Tomita from Omotesando BLUE THE THREE, offering a range of seasonal “obanzai” dishes. Now, these delicacies can be enjoyed daily, even on the first floor. Joining the popular udon lineup is the new addition of curry udon.

While retaining the nostalgic charm of the Snack Nagasaki era, the iconic counter previously on the second floor has been relocated downstairs. The distinctive door, a silent witness to the diverse people of Hyakkendana coming and going, has also found a new home inside. Parts of the wallpaper, a symbol of Nagasaki, have been preserved, carefully selecting materials that become classic over time.

From Snack Nagasaki to Bar Nagasaki/Udon Tavern Mansai, and now to “Sakedokoro Mansai,” the spirit of the karaoke bar lives on. Guests can enjoy deeper, longer nights here. *For karaoke service, please contact the store directly or check their social media.

The interior design was handled by STRAYT, a branding-focused design studio led by Naoto Endo, renowned for their work on the popular Omotesando hotspot, BLUE THE THREE. Inheritors of Snack Nagasaki’s legacy, they’ve expertly blended the old ambiance and elements with the new vibe of Mansai.
